District 6 STEM Expo

We would like to extend an invitation for you to attend our second annual District 6 STEM Expo, scheduled for Saturday June 3, 2023, from 1:00-4:00PM. The event will be held again at the Armory Track on 216 Fort Washington avenue, Manhattan NY 10032.

During our exhibition, all members of the community are welcome to experience the thrill of our LEGO robotics initiative. While students built and programmed robots, they learned about the different ways that energy is used, stored, and keeps our community thriving through hands-on real-life missions.

In addition, schools are also exhibiting innovation projects this year. These collaborative tasks are directly connected to concepts learned about energy. Students were challenged to think creatively about ways that energy usage can be improved. So far, teams of students have visited the boiler room, worked with school staff members on hydroponic equipment and some are even scripting and recording for their very own podcasts.

Our District is engaged in high-quality, culturally responsive, interdisciplinary STEM learning experiences that ignite a passion for learning, foster and develop critical thinking, and instill the motivation and skills to impact the global community.

Our collaboration with the NYC First’s STEM Center is stronger than ever. Along with monthly offerings for the community and professional development for teachers, they will host a sensory station for our youngest learners during the STEM Expo. Please stop by their station to learn how to 3D print, create vinyl stickers on the Circuit and much more.
