Mental Health Wellness Event - November 6, 2019 (For NYC Employees ONLY)

LET'S TALK ABOUT MENTAL HEALTH
If you break your leg or have an infection, you go to the doctor for treatment. But if you are dealing with stress, worry, or sadness, or just going through a difficult time it can be hard to know where to go for help. On World Mental Health Day, WorkWell NYC encourages you to start the conversation about taking care of your mental health. Below are some important information and resources about where to go if
and when you need support.

GET SUPPORT
Talk. Text.Chat 24/7. NYC Well is available by phone, text message, or online
chat for free, confidential mental health support. To access NYC Well call
1-888-NYC WELL, text "WELL" to 65173, or visit nyc.gov/nycwell.

Find a Provider. Find an in-network provider for mental health or substance
misuse by contacting your health plan. Use the numbers below or visit
nyc.gov/hbp. If you're unsure what health plan you're on, check your health
insurance card.

START THE CONVERSATION
Checking in with those around us can go a long way to break the stigma about
mental illness and promote physical and mental wellness. Ask your loved ones,
co-workers, and neighbors how they're doing and encourage them to get support
if needed.

With e-mail, social media, and texting at our fingertips we are more connected than
ever, but fostering face-to-face connections is important for mental health. Instead
of sending an e-mail to a co-worker, take a walk to talk in person. Plan a salad
social or potluck at your worksite or invite co-workers to join you for a walk at
lunchtime.
