Social Emotional Learning (SEL)

Social and Emotional Learning" (SEL) refers to the process by which kids gain the abilities necessary to flourish in today's multicultural society. SEL refers to the process by which people of all ages learn and practice the essential traits to form positive identities, control their emotions and work toward their own and others' goals, have empathy for and connect with others, build and maintain healthy relationships, and make ethical and fair decisions daily.

SEL-focused learning environments and experiences promote educational equity and excellence through true school-family-community partnerships. SEL may substantially impact co-creating great schools and making beneficial contributions to safe, healthy, and just communities.
