Inspirational Corner
On Our Core Values
- Justice: "True community is built on justice. It means ensuring every voice is heard, every effort is valued, and every student knows they belong here at PS192."
- Honor: "We honor our school and ourselves not just by what we say, but by how we treat one another every single day. Let us act with pride and kindness."
- Self-Discipline: "Self-discipline is the bridge between goals and accomplishment. It is the quiet strength that helps our lions roar the loudest when it matters most."
On Community & Gratitude
- "Gratitude is the open door to abundance. When we appreciate the joyful learning happening in our classrooms, we create space for even more growth."
- "The strength of the pride is in the bond between the lions. When parents and teachers stand together, our students know they are supported, safe, and loved."
- "Joyful learning isn't a solo activity. It takes a village of caring parents, dedicated staff, and enthusiastic students to make the magic happen."
Short "Lion Spirit" Fillers
- "Good, better, best. Never let it rest. 'Til your good is better and your better is best!"
- "Lead with Honor, act with Justice, and grow through Self-Discipline."
- "At PS192, we don't just learn; we learn with joy!"
"The behavior we model at home is the foundation for our children's growth. Our actions are a mirror, reflecting values that shape who we become. Let’s strive to inspire positivity in our words, actions, and decisions, and build a future filled with kindness and integrity. Together, we can make every day a lesson in character! 🏫✨"
Looking Forward to December 2025
Reminder:
School Uniform Reminder: Please ensure your child comes to school dressed in their uniform daily, as it is an important part of our school's tradition and identity.
ID- To ensure the safety of children, and as per DOE regulation, you always need to bring your photo I.D when you come to your child’s school.
We highly recommend taking the time each week to touch base with your child's teachers. Whether through email, in-person meetings, ClassDojo, or virtual conferences, staying connected can greatly enhance your child's educational experience.
Library Mornings Program- We would like to inform all Parents and Guardians that the library is open for your use with your children from Monday to Friday, 7:00 to 7:50 am. This is a wonderful opportunity for you to borrow books, work on computers, and practice reading.
Lost Items - Please note that if your child misplaces any belongings, you are encouraged to visit the lost and found area. Items that remain unclaimed by the end of each month will be thoughtfully donated to the Salvation Army.

Cultivating Community and Joy at PS192
Dear PS192 Families,
As the autumn leaves settle and we move deeper into the school year, the month of November offers us a beautiful opportunity to pause and reflect on the power of gratitude and community. At PS192, The School of Joyful Learning, we firmly believe that the heart of our school beats strongest when our families and educators work hand-in-hand.
Education is a shared journey. While academics are vital, the joyful environment necessary for true learning is built upon trust, connection, and shared experiences between home and school. This month, we are dedicated to strengthening those bonds through intentional acts of togetherness. We want to move beyond brief drop-off interactions and create spaces where you feel truly seen, heard, and valued as essential partners in your child's success.
We have an exciting month ahead designed to foster this spirit of unity. We are eagerly looking forward to seeing many of you join us for these upcoming opportunities to connect and celebrate:
- Coffee with Principal Abreu: We invite you to step away from the morning rush and join us for open conversation. This is more than just sharing a cup of coffee; it is a vital space for dialogue, collaboration, and building a shared vision for our school community. Your voice matters to us.
- Bingo Nights: Get ready for an evening filled with laughter, friendly competition, and pure joy! Bingo Nights are a wonderful tradition at PS192, offering a relaxed atmosphere where families can connect with one another and celebrate the vibrant spirit of our school outside the classroom walls.
- Thanksgiving Spirit Week: Later this month, leading up to the holiday break, our hallways will come alive with energy and pride. Spirit Week is a chance for our students—and our entire school community—to express their creativity and celebrate our collective gratitude.
Your presence at these events sends a powerful message to our children about the value we place on their school community. Let us make this November a month defined by connection, collaboration, and the unwavering belief that together, we can create an environment where every child thrives.
Thank you for your continued partnership. We look forward to celebrating with you soon.
With deepest gratitude and anticipation,
Hilduara Abreu Principal, PS 192
